The tarpon have showed up off the coast of sanibel. We took a charter out to a mile & a half offshore. We were the first boat out, even beating the rising sun! And sure enough, just after first light... the tarpon started showing up. And so did the other boats.



                                                                      

The bait was hooked and tossed over. And then BAM! Fish on!!! What a cool fight. The first 30 seconds into the fight, the tarpon had jumped 3 or 4 times. What a sight to see ~~ a 90 pound fish flying completely out of the water. And all this just 30 feet from the boat!



After a good 45 minute fight, the fish was released to swim away.
   
                                                  

Now it was Tony's turn. And it didn't take long. His fish was a fiesty guy. Took about an hour and fifteen minutes to land. That fish pulled the boat for quite some distance before Tony finally wore it down.


Again, a quick release and the fish was on it's way.
